This is a huge signing for the Gators as Jones flips to Florida as he will replace Matt Corral. Florida head coach Dan Mullen has added a quarterback who fits Mullen’s offense perfectly. The Gators are in need of help at quarterback since they haven’t had a decent quarterback since Tim Tebow left. Jones is only quarterback that is signing with the Gators in the early signing period.

Emory Jones is a four-star QB out of Heard County High School in Franklin, Georgia. The Florida QB commit is one of the elite quarterbacks in the country. He is an Under Armour All-American and could compete for the Gators starting quarterback job. Jones is one of the most explosive quarterbacks in the class due to his size, arm strength and speed. He has a terrific skillset which could really help him see early playing time with the Gators. Jones chose Florida over Alabama, Miami and Ohio State.
According to 247 Sports, Jones is the 40th ranked recruit and the fourth ranked dual threat quarterback in the country. According to ESPN, Jones is the 20th ranked recruit and the second ranked dual threat quarterback in the country. The Gators have added the quarterback Florida fans have been waiting for. Jones could really make an impact in the upcoming season. Being an early enrollee, Jones could come in and push for the starting quarterback job if he understand the playbook quickly and he makes the right decisions.
