Four Star Linebacker Trevin Wallace Picks Kentucky

Dane Key Commits To Kentucky

A Huge Get For The Wildcats

Heading into 2021 the Kentucky Wildcats are set at a number of positions. However one place they need help is linebacker. On Wednesday they took a huge step in filling that need pulling another player out of the state of Georgia as four star linebacker Trevin Wallace picks Kentucky.

Can Play More Positions Than Linebacker

The six foot two, 215 pound Wallace originally committed to Boston College on June 9th of 2020. However he reopened his recruitment after decommitting from the Eagles on November 29th. Recruited by Jon Sumrall, the Wildcats held off Auburn, Georgia and Ole Miss. As you can see the Cats beat out some pretty good schools in securing his commitment. During his cermony he even pulled the “fake out” in looking like he was heading to Auburn.

According to 247 Sports Wallace is the 140th best player in the country. In addition he ranks as the 9th best outside linebacker in the nation and 15th best player in Georgia.

At Wayne County High School Wallace did it all. Not only was he a standout on defense but he took snaps at quarterback, running back and receiver. He also returned kickoffs and punts. Scouts say he’s a playmaker at whatever position he plays and is doesn’t shy away from contact no matter where he is on the field. One other note Wallace ran track where he ran the 100 meters in 11.08 and had a 6-2 high jump.

How He Fits In

As mentioned at the beginning one place Kentucky needs instant help is at linebacker. With “Boogie” Watson graduating and Jamin Davis delaring for the NFL Draft the Cats lose two of their top defenders. As a result Mark Stoops needs some players quickly. It may take a little time for Wallace to adjust to the college game but he’s a player you could see on the field from day one.

Wallace isn’t the only linebacker Kentucky picked up on Wednesday. The school also announced Luke Fulton was heading to Lexington. The Youngstown, Ohio native was a top 20 inside linebacker who chose Michigan State over Kentucky. However after redshirting in 2019 and not playing at all last season Fulton hit the transfer portal and is now a Wildcat.

Again four star linebacker Trevin Wallace picks Kentucky. It shows how far Stoops and his assistants have come in recruiting circles. They are routinely picking up players wanted by schools considered bigger names. Thanks for checking out this player profile here at Last Word On College Football.
