Kentucky Signs Four Star Jeremy Flax

Four Star Jeremy Flax

A Big Addition To An Already Great Class

Since coming to Kentucky seven years ago Mark Stoops has based much of his recruiting in the state of Ohio. However over the last couple of years they’ve moved north into Michigan forming quite the pipeline. It paid dividends again as Kentucky signs four star offensive tackle Jeremy Flax.

A Prized JUCO Recruit

The 6-6, 315 pound Flax played the last two years at Independence Community College in Kansas. He ranks as the second best offensive tackle in the junior college ranks. Before heading to Kansas Flax attended high school in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.

Flax is listed as  four star recruit by Rivals. In addition 247 Sports has him as the second ranked lineman in the nation and 19th best player overall. He chose the Cats over Auburn Texas Tech and Arizona. The Tigers had been his presumed leader for months. However he visited Lexington over the weekend and then committed on Tuesday night.

Like any good coaching staff should it looks like Stoops and assistant Steve Clinkscale made a great impression on Flax’s mother.

Flax has three seasons of eligibility remaining once he enrolls at Kentucky. His commitment caps off a incredible Tuesday for Stoops as earlier in the day they got a pledge from RJ Adams, a four star guard from Virginia. Adding in another four star lineman John Young from Louisville five of the 18 commits for Kentucky are on the offensive line. Currently the Wildcats’ class ranks 20th in the country for 2020.

After seeing what Benny Snell accomplished in his time at Kentucky and what Lynn Bowden has done this year it’s no wonder the Cats are adding lineman at an incredible rate. The “Big Blue Wall” as the offensive line coach John Schlarman calls it is getting biigger and better.

The Michigan Pipeline

As mentioned earlier Stoops and Clinkscale are hitting Michigan hard in recruiting. Over the last couple of years the Cats have inked six players from the state including four this year. The class is headed by five star Justin Rogers the highest ranked player ever at Kentucky according to Rivals.

Again it’s a huge pick up for Stoops as Kentucky signs four start offensive tackle Jeremy Flax. Stay with Last Word On College Football for more player profiles as National Signing Day rolls on.
