Gerald Mincey Signs With Florida

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive linemen commits. Three-star offensive tackle and Florida commit Gerald Mincey has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. In fact, this is a nice signing for the Gators as Mincey is one of the top offensive linemen in Florida. With this in mind, Mullen likes Mincey’s skill set and needs to add some offensive lineman as that’s Florida’s biggest weakness. Additionally, this is the third offensive lineman Mullen will sign today. Gerald Mincey is one of four offensive linemen in Florida’s 2020 recruiting class with Issiah Walker, Richard Leonard, and Jovens Janvier.

Who is Gerald Mincey?

Mincey is a three-star offensive guard out of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Florida offensive tackle commit is one of the top offensive tackles in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Mincey was previously committed to Kentucky. Mincey signed with Florida over Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, and Penn State.

First, on 247 Sports, Mincey is the 111th ranked recruit in Florida and the 81st ranked offensive tackle in the country. Comparatively, on ESPN, Mincey is the 97th ranked recruit in Florida. He is also the 73rd ranked offensive tackle in the country. The Gators have added a really solid offensive tackle who could really make an impact in the future. Notably, with Mincey signing early, Florida has most of their offensive lineman fully committed to the University of Florida.
