All-American Jaylan Knighton Signs With Miami

One of the biggest prizes of the Hurricanes recruiting class has made it official. The Hurricanes are adding a home run threat in running back Jaylan Knighton. Miami has made it evident that Knighton was one of their top targets all cycle and for good reason. The Deerfield Beach product rushed for over 2,000 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. He finished high school as the second all-time leading rusher in Broward County history, having surpassed 5,000 yards in his career.

Jaylan Knighton Signs With the Miami Hurricanes

Knighton is lightning quick and possesses very good vision, he adds an element to the Hurricanes that they’re missing. As a prospect, Knighton was rated as a Top 10 back in the nation according to 247 Sports. The Under Armour All-American will play one final high school game before enrolling early to Miami next month. He selected the Hurricanes over offers from Ohio State, Florida, Florida State and Oregon.

Miami’s running back coach Eric Hickson deserves a ton of credit for the addition of Knighton. Early in his recruitment, Knighton was committed to Oklahoma and then Florida State. However Hickson remained consistent in his communication and maintained that he would eventually be his coach. The persistence paid off and now the Hurricanes will be adding the dynamic back to their roster. Hickson’s effort will give Miami two top ten running backs this class that are enrolling early.
