Challenges Loom for the Bruins

Things are not about to get any easier for the Boston Bruins. The road ahead in November will prove to be a difficult task for the B’s. This upcoming month presents a heavy schedule against some difficult teams. There will be lots of games and very little rest lying ahead for the Black and Gold. So, clear your calendars and get ready to watch a lot of Bruins hockey.

It begins on Monday. The Bruins will host the New Jersey Devils at the Garden. Then they’ll have an off day before back-to-back games across the border, as they face Toronto and then Montreal. The challenges don’t end here. Next the Blues and Canes will make their way into town before the B’s head to Columbus for a tilt against the Blue Jackets. The month of November ends with the Canadiens, the Penguins, and the Jets coming to Boston before the Bruins have little time to gear up for a hectic December.

The Bruins have been battling the injury bug badly as of late. Most recently, it was announced that David Warsofsky sustained a groin strain and will be out 2-4 weeks. The injuries have been a problem indeed. It has come to the point where the Bruins are in a situation in which they have to take action – whether it’s a trade or calling up some more defenders. The injuries could be devastating especially with the heavy schedule that looms ahead. They need to have a solid back-end playing at the blue line.

It is important that the B’s continue to play how they have recently. They need to go out and play the full 60 minutes. Everyone needs to stand up, play harder than ever, as they try to make compensations for the injuries. It’s necessary for players to step up and for everyone to contribute.

If the Bruins are able to win during this stretch of games, they stand a fighting chance of overcoming the injuries that were sustained earlier this season.

What will that mean for the Bruins if they’re able to play a successful stretch of games and overcome these critical injuries? It might just mean everything. If the Bruins can win without their key players, what will they look like when they’re a healthy team?

The Bruins will gain an enormous amount of confidence knowing that they can play as a team despite injuries. They’ll become more versatile as more players have played on different lines with different players. They’ll be able to come back strong and healthy.

Players who haven’t played in as many games due to injuries will come back well rested and full of energy. They might even stand a chance of going all the way if they’re able to remain healthy once the injured come back.

This stretch of games will say a lot about the Bruins character and how they do as a team for the remainder of this season. They have a lot of potential if they’re able to prove that they can overcome injuries and work around them to still find a way to win despite everything that they have faced.
