Los Angeles forward Jordan Nolan has been suspended 2 games for boarding Detroit forward Darren Helm.

In the beginning of the third period of Friday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, Nolan delivered a blindsided hit to Red Wings center Darren Helm from behind into the boards. Nolan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.
Helm did not suffer an injury on the play, but the NHL’s DPS had to review this incident yesterday, because these types of hits are exactly what the NHL wants to get rid of, and because of Nolan’s prior history.
This is the second time Nolan has been suspended by the league. He received a one-game late last season, when he punched an Edmonton Oilers player.
