Well that didn’t take long, just hours after being announced as a free agent, Eddie Alvarez (25-3) has signed with the UFC and will make his Octagon debut against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (24-6, 1 NC) at UFC 178. Welcome to murderers row Mr. Alvarez.
UFC officials announced the signing soon after the announcement of Alvarez’s release from Bellator. The bout will serve as the co-main event for Demetrious Johnson vs. Chris Cariaso at UFC 178 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Septemer 27th.

Cerrone’s original opponent Bobby Green is expected to receive a new opponent at a later date.
