Four Notre Dame Football players were suspended from the school for committing academic fraud, and are expected to be removed from the football team as a result. The players were found guilty of receiving unallowed help on classwork, and were subsequently suspended from the University at the conclusion of an investigation, according to a report by Yahoo Sports.

Wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive back KeiVarae Russell, defensive lineman Ishaq Williams and linebacker Kendall Moore were investigated by Notre Dame. Daniels, Russell and Williams were all expected to be starters during the 2014 season. Daniels and Russell were also starters on the 2012 team that went 12-1, losing only to Alabama in the national championship game, according to ESPN.
There are unconfirmed reports that Notre Dame will vacate the victories from that 2012 season, and possibly from the 2013 season as well.
2012 starting QB Everett Golson missed the entire 2013 season following university discipline for a similar honor code violation. Golson returned to school for the 2014 Spring Semester, and is expected to be the starter once again in 2014. There is no word yet whether the players suspended from the University this summer will be allowed to return to the school in the future.
