Jimmy Graham Signs Long-Term
The Pro-Bowl Tight End, who recorded 86 catches and 16 touchdowns on his way to 1,215 yards in 2013, has been at odds with the Saints front office all off-season since the Saints put the franchise tag on him. This led to arbitration as Graham argued that he should be tagged as a Wide Receiver while the NFL and the Saints argued he should be designated as a Tight End. The arbitration went against Graham and he had started the appeals process, although that appeal will be rendered moot as a result of his new deal.
In a scenario that echoes Quarterback Drew Brees situation in 2012, the looming deadline has got the two parties together and a deal has been done, negating the possibility of one of the Saints top players playing under the 1 year Franchise tag or even sitting out the season.
The Saints offense is now up to full strength ahead of training camp which opens on July 24th and Drew Brees will have his favorite target as the Saints look ahead to 2014 and aim to improve upon their Divisional playoff loss in 2013
