Soon to be former Dolphins guard Richie Incognito went on a twitter rant against Jonathan Martin today. Martin quit the Dolphins in October, and a week later Incognito was effectively suspended for the rest of the season when allegations were made that Martin’s actions were do to harassment and bullying from Incognito. The rant comes just days before Ted Wells is set to release his report on the incident.
I’m ready to move on with my life and career. I’ve been dragged through the mud for months by my “best friend”. #betrayed #railroaded

Dear Jon Martin….. The truth is going to bury you and your entire “camp”. You could have told the truth the entire time.

Jon Martin—you started all of this when Kenny Zuckerman released the VM to ESPN. The same VM we joked about with @brianhartline

FACT: Jonathan Martin told me he thought about taking his own life in MAY 2013 b/c he wasn’t playing well. Told me he felt worthless.

I apologize to all of the women out there that I offended with my text messages to my close personal friend.

I’m guilty of being a loyal friend and good teammate. I apologize for my poor language and rude remarks. I’ve never denied it.

The rant certainly doesn’t help Incognito in gaining any sympathy out there. Incognito continues to maintain that he has been nothing but a friend to Martin, and that any voice mails or text messages to Martin were done in a joking tone.
He also has previously blasted Martin and his lawyers and alledged that they released private information such as voicemails from Incognito to Martin to the media. Given that background, it is strange to see Martin referencing an alledged statement by Martin that he was suicidal. From my seat this seems hypocritical.
That said, we’ll just have to see what “truth” the Ted Wells report brings out.
Martin ended his rant by tweeting
I have no further comment at this time. Please contact my attorney Mark Schamel @WCSRtweet 202-857-4481
