Giants Gameday Aftermath: Giants Keep the Pressure on Eagles

Say what you want about the quality of the quarterbacks that the Giants have faced over the past four games. The fact of the matter is this: The Giants have won four straight after harassing Packers quarterback Scott Tolzien into three interceptions in a 27-13 win. This was the closest the Giants have played to a perfect game all season. This is a good thing as the Giants head down the final six weeks of the regular season.

Welcome Back, JPP: The Giants and their fans have spent the entire season wondering when they’d see the athletic freak that they’ve grown accustomed to seeing. Well, all it took was one spectacular play to change the perception as he plucked a quick-slant pass and turned it into a 26-yard pick-six and after the Packers closed to within seven. It fired up an already confident defense and they carried the day.

Re-Sign the Beast: The Jon Beason trade continues to look like a stroke of genius by general manager Jerry Reese. Another game, another eight tackles and a pick. This man is making himself a lot of money somewhere. He’s starting to look like a must re-sign considering how he’s fit perfectly since coming over a month ago. His leadership cannot be understated.

Eli Was His Old Self Again: In control. Confident. Smart. (Blame Louis Murphy for the pick since he inexplicably moved off of his spot.) When Eli has a running game working, he’s nearly flawless, and today was one of the games that you like to see from him. Hitting on 71 percent of his throws and numerous throws with optimum precision, the reemergence of both Andre Brown and Brandon Jacobs has transformed the offense. It has allowed the Giants to believe that they could do the impossible. Something that was deemed completely laughable after the game in Chicago.

Up Next: The Giants will take a step up in the quarterback weight-class as they welcome Tony Romo and the Cowboys. This is a massive game that could essentially serve as a playoff elimination game for both teams. You have to believe the Giants are feeling far more confident going into this game now due to the team coming together at the right time. It should be an incredible game where the stakes mean so much.
