Dwayne Wade's Divorce Settlement Finalized

After six years of a bitter divorce, property, and custody hearing the divorce between the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and his now ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches-Wade is finally complete.Wade’s attorney released the following statement which explains some of the craziness that has gone on in this case.

Dwayne Wade and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches have reached a financial settlement. The agreement was submitted in court last Tuesday, July 16 prior to Ms. Funches’ recent unfounded and erratic public display outside the courthouse this past Friday. Dwyane Wade has made several requests over the years to settle this matter, despite Ms. Funches having 16 different attorneys and 2 arrests throughout this process. Mr. Wade has provided a very generous settlement to Ms. Funches to continue to live a wonderful lifestyle for the rest of her life.”

The deal reportedly leaves Funches-Wade with $5 million as a settlement, plus one of the couple’s homes, and 4 cars.  The two sides also signed a “non-disparage” agreement as part of the settlement, though that may continue to be a problem given Funches-Wade’s bizarre behaviour outside the courthouse after the deal was signed.

Funches-Wade has been recieving $25,000 per month in spousal support throughout the court process, along with having Wade cover her attorney’s fees.

Now that this whole ordeal is over, hopefully both sides can move on with their lives and we won’t have to hear of any more legal proceedings between the two.  I mean if we are looking for drama, the Miami Heat can usually provide enough of that on the court, and in the locker room without getting the significant others, children, and courts involved in the process.
