Jaromir Jagr Signs With New Jersey

Jaromir Jagr has agreed to terms on a one year deal with the New Jersey Devils today.  The 41-year-0ld right wing was an unrestricted free agent who split last season between the Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins.

Jagr can still provide scoring punch at the NHL level, and is especially effective on the powerplay. Last season he scored 16 goals, and 19 assists for 35 points in 45 games.

Jagr scored 10 points in 22 playoff games for the Stanley Cup Finalist Boston Bruins, however many considered the performance to be disappointing as he did not get any goals, recording all assists.

Jagr also played 37 games for Kladno in the Czech League during the lockout scoring 57 points.  He previously spent three years in the KHL before returning to the NHL in 2011-12 with the Philadelphia Flyers.

It is a 7th NHL team for the legendary winger from Kladno, Czech Republic.  In 1391 career games, the surefire hall of famer has scored 681 career goals 1007 career assists for 1688 career points.  He has a trophy case full with 2 Stanley Cups, an Olympic Gold Medal, 2 IIHF World Championship Gold Medals, 5 Art Ross Trophies, 3 Lester B. Pearson Awards, and a Hart Trophy.

The move has been rumored since Ilya Kovslchuk’s surprise retirement/KHL announcement last week.
