Former NBA star and troubled bad boy Gilbert Arenas was arrested in Los Angeles this morning. According to TMZ, he was pulled over at approximately 2:30 am for doing approximately 80 MPH in his Ford Pickup Truck. He was also allegedly driving without a license.
When police searched the vehicle, they reportedly found that the truck was filled with over 20 cases of illegal fireworks. The amount was so large that LAPD brought in the bomb squad to deal with it.
Police have seized the fireworks and apparently, Arenas’ fourth of July party won’t be as good as he was planning. To make matters worse he was taken away from the scene in handcuffs, in the back of a cruiser, and charged with speeding, driving without a license, and being in possession of illegal explosives.
Many may remember Arenas for the time he was suspended for bringing in guns to the Washington Wizards dressing room and allegedly threatening then teammate Javaris Crittenton. He then pled guilty to a felony charge of carrying an unlicensed pistol. The actions earned Arenas a long suspension. As we can see, he hasn’t stopped doing dumb and illegal things.
