(August 18, 2016) – On this week’s episode of Last Word SC, Matt sits down with or colleague and good friend Joe Goldstein. The guys discuss last weekend’s New York Red Bulls II match in which Video Assistant Referees (VAR) was used for the first time in USL! Joe gives his take on the technology, how it changed the game, and how it was received. The guys spitball some ideas for how the technology could be altered and implemented league wide from USL to MLS.
Last Word SC: Video Assistant Referees And Goalkeeper Week
In the round table Matt and Joe celebrate MLS Goalkeeper Week by breaking down the current race for Goalkeeper of the Year. Matt even gives his theory about the good vibes voodoo Andre Blake must be getting from Usain Bolt that has him playing on such a high level.
The guys break down the standings and talk about who they think is going to make the playoffs in each conference. To close out the show, we do predictions for the full weekend of MLS games.
