(August 4, 2016) – On this week’s episode of Last Word SC, Matt Pollard sits down with our very own Philadelphia Union beat writer, Matt McCarthy. The Matts talk all things Alejandro Bedoya to the Union: why he came back, why the Union are the perfect fit, and how he’s the No. 8 the Union’s 4-2-3-1 needs. They also discuss a few of the other trades Philly has made, the youth movement, and Matt M. waxes poetic about Earnie “The Orchestrater” Stewart.
Last Word SC: Alejandro Bedoya to the Union and SKC Back on Track
In the second segment Matt is joined by Steve Brisendine of MLSSoccer.com to talk about Sporting KC getting back into their groove. Steve shares some thoughts from Benny Feilhaber about how the club has turned things around and used their depth. We get an update on Matt Besler‘s recovery and the nonsense that is the Dom Dwyer to Greece rumor. Steve then gives his take on SKC’s tough CCL draw and what it will take for them to advance and still make the MLS Cup playoffs.
In the round table, Matt goes solo asking the question “is D.C. United going to be fun now?” Matt also gives a little preview of the Olympics and why he’s a little burned out from this Super Summer of Soccer.
This is a jam packed show. Share it with your friend from Philly, then go stuff your face with a Philly Cheese steak. Or some burnt ends from Oklahoma Joe’s. Or whatever new fad diet those nonexistent LAFC fans have come up with in the last 5 minutes.
