The YMCA Capital City League wrapped up their regular season on Wednesday Night, setting up for yet another enticing end-of-season tournament.
YCCL Final Standings
1. Tim Vorland Photography 6-2
2. Des Moines Outreach Lions Club 6-2
—Top 2 teams earn 1st round bye—
3. ADIO Chiropractic 4-4
4. Renaissance Granite 4-4
5. Phoenix Renewable Resources 3-5
6. Hannah Homes 1-7
Game 1 – 5:30pm CT #3 ADIO Chiropractic (4-4) vs. #6 Hannah Homes (1-7)
This one has the potential to be the upset of the tournament. Iowa State’s Deonte Burton is not afraid to say he won’t let his team lose on Friday Night, and that very well could be happen. Burton lead his team to the YCCL Championship in 2015, winning in a thrilling victory.
This season has been filled with close losses for Hannah Homes, who ended the season with a 1-7 record. However on Friday, Head coach Paul Pedersen and his team will try to do the impossible.
Adio Chiropractic on the other hand has played all but two games this season without Reed Timmer, a bonified scorer, however they have not slowed down at all.
Nick Babb and Solomon Young provide a great combo to compliment some great shooters the team has scattered around. They will be without Valley High School’s Quinton Curry (injury), who went toe-to-toe with Burton during the two team’s last meeting.
