Out west the boys look at how the St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks finished off hard fought series, with not so-hard-fought blowout victories in game seven. These two franchises have long been known for their playoff failures, now they have an opportunity to erase all that, and make the Stanley Cup Final. Who will come out of the wild west.
In the East, the Tampa Bay Lightning had little trouble disposing of the New York Islanders, while the Pittsburgh Penguins victory over Washington was quicker and easier than most expected. Who has the edge in this series. Could Steven Stamkos and Anton Stralman return? What effect will they have?
The boys also go over two new coaching hirings, Bruce Boudreau in Minnesota and Guy Boucher in Ottawa. What can they do to help their new teams, and will it be successful?
They also look at the nominees for the major NHL Awards this year. Who will take home the Hart Trophy? Who takes the Vezina and was Jonathan Quick are deserving nominee? Who takes the Norris as best defenceman, and is it best offensive defenceman? Can Connor McDavid overtake Artemi Panarin for the Calder despite his big injury? All those questions, plus a look at the Jack Adams, GM of the Year, the Selke, the Lindsay and the Masterton.
