(May 12, 2016) – On this week’s episode of Last Word SC Radio, Ty and Matt sat down with Richard Fleming, play-by-play announcer for the Colorado Rapids. They make some comparisons to Leicester City and talk about why the Rapids have been so successful this year. Fleming also gives his thoughts on Jermaine Jones and how everything has come together on this crazy run of form.

In the second segment, John Bava joins to talk about the madness going down in Columbus. The guys rant about what went wrong for Kei Kamara in the post game interview and how this shake up will affect the Crew. John also gives his take on the #TeamPipa vs. #TeamKei divide that may or may not exist inside the Crew locker room. Perhaps this move was Columbus removing a locker room cancer before it spread? The guys also talk about how Kamara is exactly what the New England Revolution need right now. Kamara’s mad that his No. 10 isn’t giving him enough service? Enter Lee Nyguyen.
Then in the round table, New York Red Bulls beat writers Joe Goldstein and Russ McKenzie join to talk about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and NYRB II Fight Club incident from last weekend. The guys go back and forth on whether the year long ban was enough for Romeo Parkes. Russ gives the guys an update on Karl Ouimette’s health. Then the guys preview Friday night’s Viernes de Futbol Atlantic Cup Match.
To end the show, Ty brings up the Zlatan to LA Galaxy rumors and lets Matt freak the you-know-what out over this. Madness and snark ensues. Matt suggests that more TAM or a fourth DP slot will open up. Russ says that Ashley Cole and Zlatan would join forces to burn the LA Galaxy to the ground. Ty suggests that MLS should break the internet by adding $40 million in TAM so the league can take over world football.
Seriously, all three segments are great content on big stories in American Soccer right now. Together, this show was lit. Share it with your friends who like Barcelona or Bayern fan. Our shenanigans should distract them from the fact that their club isn’t playing in the Champion’s League Final.
