Mecole Hardman Jr. Commits to Georgia

Five-star athlete Mecole Hardman Jr. has made his choice, signing his letter of intent for Georgia.

Mecole Hardman Jr. is going to be a question mark wherever he goes because he is being recruited for different sides of the ball depending on the team you talk to.

Hardman, from Elbert, Georgia is listed as the #1 athlete by 247Sports. At 5-11 170 pounds, he has explosive speed and some schools are recruiting him for offense, while others have said he has more upside as defensive back.

He finished his senior season at quarterback with 912 yards passing and 7 touchdowns but also rushed for another 946 yards, but most of the teams that use him on offense see him as wide receiver because of his slight size and speed. He has been clocked at 4.48 in the 40 yard dash.

Hardman had most of the ACC and SEC recruiting him, and even some unusual teams like Georgia Southern and Old Dominion trying to pry him away from the blue bloods of college football. Up through the night before signing day he listed Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee as his finalists. His last visit was to Columbus and Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer would likely use Hardman on offense. The pressure to stay local is not lost on Hardman though as Georgia commit Elijah Holyfield, (son of former heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield), started tweeting Hardman urging him to stay home and play for the Bulldogs.
