Maple Leafs acquire Jeremy Morin from Chicago
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Sunday that the hockey club has acquired forward Jeremy Morin from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Richard Panik. Morin will join the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.
Morin, 24, has skated in 82 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets, registering 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) and 69 penalty minutes. During the 2015-16 campaign, the Auburn, New York native has appeared in 28 regular season games with the Rockford IceHogs (AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks) collecting 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) and 24 penalty minutes. In 236 career AHL games, Morin has posted 180 points (90 goals, 90 assists) and 325 penalty minutes. Morin was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round (45th overall) during the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He also won a bronze medal with the United States at the 2015 World Hockey Championships.
Panik, 24, has skated in 151 career NHL games, registering 39 points (19 goals, 20 assists). The Martin, Slovakia native had collected 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 33 regular season games with the Toronto Marlies this season.
The Toronto Marlies next play when they visit the Manitoba Moose on Friday, January 8 at 8 p.m. EST.

Leafs Loan Arcobello, Bibeau To Marlies
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Sunday that the team has loaned goaltender Antoine Bibeau and forward Mark Arcobello to the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
Arcobello, 27, has skated in nine games with the Maple Leafs this season. The Milford, Connecticut native has also skated in 23 games with the Marlies in 2015-16, collecting 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) to place him 10th in AHL scoring.
Bibeau, 21, has appeared in 15 games with the Marlies this season, posting a record of 10-4-0 along with a 3.20 goals against average and a 0.889 save percentage. The Victoriaville, Quebec native was originally drafted by the Maple Leafs during the 2013 NHL Draft (172nd overall). Bibeau has yet to make his NHL debut.
The Maple Leafs return to the ice on Wednesday night when they travel to California for a 10 p.m. ET game against the Anaheim Ducks. The Toronto Marlies will host the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning) this afternoon at 3 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
