In the early hours of this morning news broke that St. Louis Rams troubled wide receiver Stedman Bailey had been shot multiple times while sitting in a car in Miami Florida. Bailey is believed to be in a critical but stable condition and the circumstances surrounding the event are worrying.

Rams Receiver Stedman Bailey Wounded in Shooting
Initial reports indicate that Stedman was shot twice in the head while sitting in a car with three other passengers, all believed to be family members, two of which were reportedly children.
The driver of the car, Baileys cousin sustained life threatening injuries after another car reportedly pulled up beside and opened fire. Bailey is in a stable condition in hospital and is cooperating with police.
The following is a statement released by the St. Louis Rams,
“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”
Bailey was serving a four game suspension for substance abuse and was eligible to be reinstated December 13th, when the Rams face Detroit. The former 3rd round pick in 2013, had caught 12 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown in eight games. Bailey is originally from the Miramar Florida area near to Miami Gardens where the shooting took place and he is scheduled to have surgery later today.
