Miami Heat shooting guard Gerald Green was suspended two games by the team for detrimental conduct, a move that Green has reportedly accepted.
The Heat have been without Green for a week now, as Green was hospitalized for undisclosed reasons. Head coach Erik Spoelstra confirmed that Green is healthy and is not facing threatening injuries. At this time, it is unclear if the hospitalization and the suspension are related to the same incident.
Jeff Zillget of USA Today tweeted the Heat’s statement on Green’s suspension earlier:

The Gerald Green story this past week has been a weird one to follow, but it seems as though it will die down soon, especially with Green accepting his suspension right away. It seems as though the two sides are going to keep this in-house as much as possible and try to avoid details being leaked to the press and the public. This has led to rampant speculation on the nature of the detrimental conduct.
After a solid season with Phoenix last year, Green was signed as a free agent by Miami over the summer to add some depth to a playoff-hungry team. The shooting guard still has a ton of time to contribute, as the season is still very young.
Miami’s next game is Thursday vs. the Jazz followed by a five day rest until they play the Timberwolves next Tuesday. Green will miss both contests.
