The Golden State Warriors Have not Missed a Beat

The defending champion Golden State Warriors are picking up right where they left off last season. The trend of blowing out teams has continued, even without head coach Steve Kerr. Luke Walton has to be doing something right. Reigning MVP Stephen Curry is already in mid-season form and is looking to show that his MVP Award last season was no fluke.

After the first game of the season, it was easy to tell the Warriors were simply on a mission this season. Curry has 24 points in the first quarter against the Pelicans, and the game was pretty much over from that point. Four days later, the Warriors go to New Orleans for a rematch, and Curry does even better. He has 28 points in the third quarter and finishes with 53 points in the game. Curry joined elite company as he scored the third most points in NBA history through the first three games. He is on top of the basketball world right now and is not expecting to come down anytime soon. Last night, the Warriors beat the Memphis Grizzlies by 50 points. That was not a typo. That just shows how dominant the Warriors are going to be.

The Golden State Warriors Have not Missed a Beat

What was really surprising before the season is many people expecting the Warriors to not repeat as champions. Experts picked teams such as the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers to dethrone the defending champions. Both teams made moves in the offseason to do whatever it takes to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals. As of right now, the Warriors are still the favorites to win the West. The team is simply too deep and are not selfish players. They put the team first and do not care about their stats.

One of the biggest issues many people had with the Warriors title run was the health of the opponents. Every team they faced was missing their point guard and other players. The Warriors have played every team they played in the Western Conference playoffs last season and have dominated them. All of the teams are at full strength right now and the Warriors still get the job done.

Although all is well right now, the Warriors should have some concern. It is unknown how long Kerr is going to be sidelined with back issues. While Walton is doing well as an interim head coach, the presence of the head coach will eventually be missed. We all hope Kerr is able to get back to coaching at full health.

The Warriors are on top of the world right now, and it seems that no one is going to be able to stop them right now. The Clippers will be facing them Wednesday night, and that is a game that everyone should want to see. As of right now, good luck stopping the Warriors.
