With the loss, Saint Louis falls to 6-10-8 (26 pts.), while Richmond moves to 9-6-9 (36 pts.) on the season.

Saint Louis started out strong and had its best possible scoring chance early in the 18th minute from forward Jordan Roberts. Roberts collected a rebound just outside the penalty area and sent in a powerful shot but it sailed just left of the goal.

After both sides went into the break scoreless, Richmond turned up the offense, taking eight of its twelve total shots in the second half.

The first Richmond goal came from forward Yudai Imura who received a pass at the top of the box and sent a bullet to the top left corner out of reach of the diving Alec Kann. Imura’s goal in the 70th minute put the hosts up 1-0.

Just less than ten minutes later, forward Jason Yiesley put home an insurance goal with a header from Matthew Delicate’s service to make it 2-0.

Next up, Saint Louis FC will take on the Rochester Rhinos at Sahlen’s Stadium on Sunday, August 30. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:05 PM.
