Blue Jays Acquire Mark Lowe

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired RHP MARK LOWE from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for LHP NICK WELLS, LHP JACOB BRENTZ & LHP ROB RASMUSSEN.

LOWE, 32, has made 34 appearances out of the bullpen for Seattle, allowing just four earned runs over 36 innings for a 1.00 ERA in 2015. The Houston, Texas native is a veteran of 10 seasons, spending time with Seattle, Texas, Los Angeles Angels and Cleveland. The right-hander owns an 8-22 career mark with a 3.80 ERA in 305 appearances, all in relief.

LHP NICK WELLS, selected in the 3rd round of the 2014 draft is currently with Bluefield (RK), posting a 1-2 record with a 4.78 ERA in seven starts. LHP JACOB BRENTZ was an 11th round selection in 2013 and is 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA in six starts, also with Bluefield. LHP ROB RASMUSSEN has recorded a 2.92 ERA in 11 appearances over two seasons for the Blue Jays, while going 4-1 with a 2.36 ERA in 34 games with Buffalo (AAA) this season.

Busy Blue Jays add Speedster Ben Revere

The Blue Jays continued to add Friday, acquiring outfielder Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jim Salisbury first reported Toronto had interest in the 27-year-old outfielder, who is hitting .298/.334/.374 in 96 games for Philadelphia this season.

It is not yet known what the Phillies will receive in return.

The Blue Jays have placed second baseman Devon Travis on the 15-day DL with a shoulder injury. It is not clear what other roster moves will be needed to make room for the additions.
