The Vancouver Canucks announced today that the team has acquired forward Brandon Sutter and a 3rd round pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Nick Bonino, defenseman Adam Clendening, and a 2nd round pick. The 3rd round pick comes from the Buffalo Sabres as compensation for hiring Dan Bylsma. The 2nd Round pick comes from the Anaheim Ducks in the Ryan Kesler deal.
Sutter collected 33 points (21 goals, 12 assists) in 80 games with Pittsburgh last season. The 26-year-old also skated in five playoff games, registering a goal and assist with two penalty minutes. The Huntington, New York native was originally selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round (11th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

For Nick Bonino this will be his third team in three seasons after being traded from the Anaheim Ducks to Vancouver last year in the Ryan Kesler deal.
Bonino collected 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) in 75 games last season with the Canucks. The 27-year-old center hails from Hartford, CT.
Adam Clendening played 17 games on the blueline for the Canucks last season, collecting 2 assists and 2 penalty minutes.
