On what is a beautiful day in the Queen City, the winless Saskatchewan Roughriders announce a few very timely transactions.
The signing of international DB Alex Suber is a band-aid solution on a Riders defence with a plethora of backfield injuries. I hesitate to call Suber leftovers, but he was unsigned through four weeks of the season. We’ll see if he’s got something left.
Dynamic receiver Ryan Smith has been activated to the 46-man roster and he’ll be a boost to an already stellar receiving corps. In just two games, Smith amassed 11 catches for 251 yards. His presence will be felt in the Riders’ week five contest.
Rounding out today’s roster shuffle was a move to the injured list for national receiver Seydou Junior Haidara. National linebacker Akwasi Antwi and international defensive back Marrio Norman were released. Head coach Corey Chamblin really liked Norman so he might be staying in Regina for a while to see if an opportunity presents itself again.
Press release follows.
