Match Day 21: Saint Louis FC’s Canada Trip Continues
Toronto, On (July 17, 2015) – After a rough outing against FC Montreal earlier this week, Saint Louis FC look to end their slump against Toronto FC II.
Toronto FC II (3-7-3, 12 pts.) vs. Saint Louis FC (4-7-6, 18 pts.)

Time: 7:00 PM CT / 8:00 PM ET
Venue: Ontario Soccer Centre; Toronto, Ontario, Canada
LAST TIME OUT: Saint Louis FC suffered a 5-2 defeat to FC Montreal Wednesday afternoon at Stade Saputo. After James Musa scored his first goal of the season to put the visitors ahead early, Montreal scored four unanswered goals en route to the victory. The Saint Louis FC defense has conceded eight goals in its last two matches.
THE OPPONENT: Toronto FC II is coming off a 2-0 loss to the Rochester Rhinos last weekend at the Ontario Soccer Centre. TFC II has struggled offensively as of late, scoring one goal in its last six matches combined (1-3-2). Toronto is in the middle of a eight-game homestand.
THE SERIES: Saturday’s match will be the second and final meeting of the season between Saint Louis FC and Toronto FC II. Earlier this year, TFC II rallied to defeat Saint Louis 2-1 at World Wide Technology Soccer Park on May 14.
LEADS SLIP AWAY: In each of its last three games, Saint Louis FC has quickly gone ahead 1-0 with a goal in the opening 12 minutes of the match. However, STL FC has failed to protect its early leads and is 1-2-0 in those three matches. In its first meeting against Toronto on May 14, Saint Louis scored a goal in the first minute of play only to lose 2-1.
