Has the Wimbledon tournament got you excited for seeing professional tennis? The 2015 United States Tennis Association (USTA) Nielsen Pro Tennis Championship begins Sunday July 5th in the Chicago area and through Saturday July 11th. All singles and doubles matches will be held outdoors at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center, 530 Hibbard Rd., Winnetka, Illinois 60093. The Nielsen Tennis Center is a great place to watch tennis. All of the seats are very close to the play and the lake front venue provides a beautiful back drop. The intimate venue is a fan favorite due its close proximity to the players and the action.

32 Years of Tennis at Nielsen Championship

The first annual USTA Nielsen challenger tournament took place in 1984 and proceeds from the event benefit the North Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA). The NSSRA provides and facilitates year-round recreation programs and services for children and adults with disabilities who live in the partner communities of ten park districts, two cities and one village in the northern suburban area of Chicago.

In past years, the tourney has hosted current high ranking ATP tour players such as Rajeev Ram, John Isner, Sam Querry, Donald Young, James Blake and 2013 singles champion Jack Sock. In 2014, Bradley Klahn, Denis Kudla, Farrukh Dustov, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Evan King, Raymond Sarmiento, Ryan Harrison, Somdev Devvarman, Ricardas Berankis, Michael Russell and Wisconsin native Tim Smyczek all played in the tournament.
