Other than the two assists he created in the match against the earthquakes, Giovinco also hit the frame of the goal on two other occasions and was a constant threat to the San Jose defence. Giovinco is enjoying a spectacular first season in North America, with defenders who are finding him unplayable. The 28-year old attacking midfielder is said to be being monitored by Italian national team head coach Antonio Conte, and could be called up to the national side for their upcoming Euro qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Michael Bradley will miss the match against DC United due to being called up to the US national team squad.
