The boys discuss the Stanley Cup playoffs and the outstanding conference finals that we are seeing. Ben and Dave discuss the idea that these series could be classics and talk about the classic conference finals of the past.
They look into the Chicago Blackhawks propensity to come up big in overtime games, especially those that go multiple overtimes. They also look at Jonathan Toews two goals in 72 seconds in game five and ask what is there about players we label clutch playoff performers? Does such a thing even exist? Ben and Dave take opposite views on the issue, of whether we can define clutch play in the playoffs.
The boys also look at the wild third periods we have seen in recent games, such as the Rangers five-goal outburst in game six, and the Ducks scoring three goals in 37 seconds, along with Toews moment. What is making these third periods so unpredictable? Why are we seeing such wide-open hockey from teams who have been so defensively responsible all season long.
The boys then get into their predictions for these upcoming game sevens.
Moving on from the NHL the boys also look at what is going on in the AHL Calder Cup playoffs, as well as where things stand in the Memorial Cup, as we look to crown champions of the minor leagues, and junior hockey.
