5-11-15 Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks

Welcome to the 5-11-15 Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks. Keep an eye on lineups and weather as the day progresses, there may be some guys on this list who are out today. The below values are based off of FanDuel.

5-11-15 Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks

Pitcher

Gerrit Cole, SP, Pittsburgh Pirates, $9,000 – Even though Pittsburgh is on the road, it is a road date against the Philadelphia Phillies who possess one of the worst lineups in all of baseball. Cole looks to be in a great spot to record a good number of strikeouts and due to a match up against Jerome Williams, the Pirates should score some runs and put Cole in a good position for the Win.

Catcher

Yasmani Grandal, C, Los Angeles Dodgers, $3,000 – Grandal received the day off Sunday so he should be well rested tonight for a home game versus the Marlins and Tom Koehler. There is limited history between the two, but Grandal has two singles in his only two at bats and showed Thursday that he can provide some big time outings from time to time.

First Base

Pablo Alvarez, 1B, Pittsburgh Pirates, $2,900 – I am using a trio of left handed hitting Pirates tonight in Philadelphia against Jerome Williams. Alvarez has faced Williams once and recorded a double and a solo home run in three at bats against him. The potential for a negative score is there, but the multiple home run upside is there as well.

Second Base

Neil Walker, 2B, Pittsburgh Pirates, $3,000 – Walker is on a nice run right now with strong games all weekend plus a good history against Jerome Williams with a single and a double in six at bats. Walker can also steal a base from time to time and could give you a bonus if he can get on base a few times tonight.

Third Base

Evan Longoria, 3B, Tampa Bay Rays $3,800 – If you are an opponent of Batter versus Pitcher numbers, you can not argue the merits of these numbers 24-58 (.414), eight 2B, six HR, 14 RBI and 13 BB. That is nearly a full month of statistics, so if you do not trust BvP numbers because of small sample sizes, please find me another reasonable argument to fade Longoria tonight.

Shortstop

Alcides Escobar, SS, Kansas City Royals, $2,600 – We are hoping for some runs scored and multiple hits tonight from Escobar as he is not running as much as he has done in the past. A solid match up in Texas against Colby Lewis, combined with a nice price tag makes Escobar a solid option tonight.

Outfield

Bryce Harper, OF, Washington Nationals, $5,100 – The pending National League Player of the Week is my splurge hitter tonight. While the price tag may be a little much for some, a salivating match up in Arizona against soft tossing Josh Collmenter makes me want to invest that the breakout everyone has been waiting on from Harper will continue.

Gregory Polanco, OF, Pittsburgh Pirates, $3,200 – Polanco has been filling up the box score nightly with hits, runs, RBI, walks and steals – I expect that trend to continue against Jerome Williams in Citizens Bank Ballpark. This will be the first time Polanco has faced Williams in his career.

Alejandro de Aza, OF, Baltimore Orioles, $2,400 – Inconsistent as of late, but a home game against right handed starter Marco Estrada of the Blue Jays makes de Aza a great value at only $2,400. In order to get Longoria & Harper in, you are going to need to find a few sub-$2500 priced options and I think de Aza fits the bill tonight.
