Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Keep An Eye On

This is a list of 10 prospects that could help your fantasy team this season. Some guys just need a bit of time to work on some things, get spring at bats, work on defense, or work on command.Other players are from Cuba and are rusty from not playing for a year or 2. Some guys just waiting for their opportunity when a player gets hurt or traded to make space on the big league roster.

Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Keep An Eye On

  • Noah Syndergaard

He’s a really good pitcher for the Mets. Keep an eye out when he gets called up as he could help your team in Ks and ERA. Although it might take an injury before he gets a chance.

  • Carlos Rodon

Another guy who just missed out on making the roster. He was sent down to work on his changeup. Once he can throw it with confidence, rest assured he will be starting for the White Sox. During spring he raked up 9k’s in one game.

  • Jon Gray

First round pick for the Rockies in 2013. He throws fire in the 95-101 mph range. I’d watch how he does in triple A. I don’t anticipate him being called up until mid season but you never know with injuries. He should be a very interesting strike out pick up.

  • Henry Owens

Boston’s #1 pitching prospect. He works the count very well and gets a ton of K’s in triple A. Another one who may not get called up until mid season.

  • Yoan Lopez

The first of 4 Cuban players who signed in the past year to make this list. Lopez throws gas but we’re not to sure what the Diamondbacks plans are for him yet. He gave up 12 runs during spring soit’s not likely he’ll get a call anytime soon but he’s still a very interesting prospect.

  • Dylan Bundy

Coming off an injury from last year, Bundy had hopes to join the staff this spring but was not sharp at all and was sent back down to work on his command. Could see him getting a chance at some point this year.

  • Jose Peraza

Should have got the second base job in Atlanta this spring but started out 0-16. While he looked over matched, he could have just been rusty. He has more speed than anyone else you could pick up all year off the wire; he was able to nab 60 stolen bases last year in the minors. If you are looking for a bump in speed mid season keep an eye on this kid.

  • Rusney Castillo

Castillo is just waiting for Shane Victorino to get hurt. Once that happens Castillo will be your starting right fielder for Boston. He has the potential to bring solid HR and speed combo if still on the wire.

  • Yasmany Tomas

Just started to get going towards the end of spring training. Diamondbacks sent him down to work on his defense and get some more at bats. While he may have been drafted initially, there’s a good chance by the time he gets the call up, any owner could have dropped him by then. Could be a nice snag off the waiver wire that will provide power.

  • Hector Olivera

We’re stuck waiting for Olivera to get his visa but he’s a great guy to keep and eye on. The Dodgers spent big on him so odd are may have a chance to start later this year.
