Cheick Diallo is one of, if not the top prospect currently being recruited by Iowa State basketball. The top ten ranked 6’9″ Power Forward has been on the Cyclones radar for almost a year. Head Coach Fred Hoiberg, is “moving in for the kill.”

Diallo was expected to commit during early April this season, of course ready to play at the start of 2015-16 Season. Although he wants to leave after one season, some coaches have made “one and done’s” work such as John Calipari and Kentucky.

The list for Diallo has reportedly been down to five for a long time now, and it includes Iowa State, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, and St. John’s. While all of those schools could really use a 6’9″ power forward, he really would fit in nicely in Ames, Iowa.

As the top player in the Northeast, Diallo could add some special talent playing with two All-Big 12 selections in Georges Niang and Monte Morris. The fan favorite is in his senior season and will captain the ship that wants to find Atlantis. Diallo would join the other big man in the lineup in Jameel McKay. McKay was talented in this season, but a decoy would help in ISU’s dunk-loving lineup. That includes Marquette transfer, Dee Burton. Burton showed his dunking ability plenty of times at Marquette, the most famous being this one:

Fred Hoiberg has continued to add new faces to the already impressive club, including Darien Williams and Hallice Cooke. Both can shoot the three from anywhere on the court.

Along with the newbies are some more, you guessed it, hot shooters – Naz Long, Abdel Nader, and Matt Thomas look to complete a group that could make Iowa State history. And whether Diallo commits to ISU or not, fans will still preach that, “It’s going to be a fun season.”
