FANTASY PROFILE: JOSE RAMIREZ, SS, CLEVELAND INDIANS
LWOS Ranking 28, Captain’s Value: $1.52
Jose Ramirez is a fine defensive option with some speed, but he’s not expected to produce a whole lot offensively. Defense is a fine trait for a ballplayer to possess, but the lack of offensive potential means Ramirez is not a desirable fantasy commodity. Even worse, it’s a near certainty that Francisco Lindor will replace him at some point, the only question is when. Barring any setbacks or injuries, it’s best to figure around late-May/early-June.
Until then, expect a league average batting average, no pop, some speed, and not much else.
