FANTASY PROFILE: ERICK AYBAR, SS, LOS ANGELES ANGELS

LWOS Ranking 11, Captain’s Value: $8.54

Erick Aybar is like Vanilla ice cream, boring but very useful. He is coming off his best season since 2011, and was a constant threat in fantasy lineups. He set career highs in runs, hits, and RBI, while stealing 16 bases. The Angles SS is durable, as he has played 137+ games in six straight seasons. At 31, he doesn’t have the upside of other shortstops, but consistent middle infielders late in the draft are hard to find.

Aybar will likely fall into the 16th or 17th round of 12 team leagues. This is great value for a durable SS who produces year after year. Aybar is as consistent as they come and should be in for another solid season in 2015.
