There is a solid slate of games for a Sunday, and with virtually zero must-plays, you want to make sure you have the necessary info to have an edge. There are not many big names nor many huge upside plays, so today is really about getting those middle of the pack guys correct. You will see very few stars and scrubs lineups out there, as most of the value comes from the mid-range price tags today. Even though though there is a ten game slate, you should really only be focusing on about half of the games, as the others do not provide much value at all.
Fantasy CBB Plays 2-15-15
Top Plays
AJ Hammons -Forward Purdue. Price 7800
Hammons has come on really strong recently, and for the price is the top play on the board today. He is a big man with NBA talent and draws Nebraska today who is awful on the glass. Hammons has exceeded 30 fantasy points in his last five and do not expect the streak to end here at home.
Stanley Johnson -Forward Arizona. Price 7900
You will need to have someone from Arizona in your lineup today for protection as they are projected the biggest total. You cannot go wrong with Johnson, as he has the highest usage in this offense and just so happens to be their best guy on the glass. There is a blowout potential and Arizona runs deep, but the floor is high for Johnson today.
Andre Hollins -Guard Minnesota. Price 7700
This game vs Indiana will be played very fast. This will make Hollins be able to get up a lot of shots. Minnesota is projected over 70 points and the last time they did this was against Illinois and Hollins had 44 fantasy points. Hollins will be high owned, but I like him more than Yogi Ferrell as is more involved in his team’s offense.
Mid-Tier Plays
Yogi Ferrell -Guard Indiana. Price 8000
I did not say I didn’t like Yogi Ferrell above, I just like Hollins more. Ferrell is still a great option today as this pace is just going to be nonstop and Ferrell’s Indiana’s best player. This is the game to target players from, so make sure you have some exposure as everyone else will.
Troy Williams -Forward Indiana. Price 7600.
Williams is never an option at this price tag when Indiana is on the road, but since that is not the case here, play him with confidence. Williams has gone for more than 28 fantasy points in four of his last five home games and with the frantic pace today, expect his good home play to keep up.
Nigel Hayes 6800 -Forward Wisconsin. Price 6800
Hayes is purely in play due to his most recent price drop. Hayes is more talented than Sam Dekker, but due to a recent stretch of good games for Dekker his price has risen above Hayes. Do not fall for the game log trap here. Hayes is the better talent and has a great floor, but a limited ceiling. For this price tag, Hayes has to be considered.
High Risk/Reward Plays
B.J. Taylor -Guard Central Florida. Price 5500
This game has a decent total and Taylor is UCF’s best scorer. In a fast paced game with two teams that cannot play defense Taylor’s upside certainly could come into play here. The downside of Taylor is he has bad shooting games and contributes very little all around, so you rely on his scoring to hit you value.
Andrew Andrews -Guard Washington. Price 6600
Andrews very well may be the highest owned player on the board today. Andrews has been extremely consistent recently, but does have a serious dud in the middle of a great stretch of games. He fills up the box score all over the place, and is upside is tremendous. The only worry here is the dud may be coming again, but I’m confident that it will not be here.
Tra Holder 5100 -Guard Arizona State. Price 5100
At this price Holder has made value in five of his last seven games. Since moving to the starting lineup he has been heavily involved in this offense. With the match-up against Washington, opportunities will be there, and the pace will be good, but one bad shooting day from an average player like Holder will leave you wondering why you ever jumped on the bandwagon.
