Adarius Bowman Traded to the Montreal Alouettes

Kavis Reed and the Montreal Alouettes still have the trade fever as they acquired 11-year veteran Adarius Bowman Monday afternoon in a trade with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

In return for Bowman, the Alouettes are sending over a conditional draft pick in the 2019 CFL Draft. The Blue Bombers are essentially giving away Bowman to Montreal, dumping off his approximated $140,000 salary.

The Alouettes have now acquired four new offensive players in the last 24 hours. Montreal recently brought in quarterback Johnny Manziel as well as offensive linemen Tony Washington and Landon Rice.

In his second tenure with the Bombers in his CFL career, Bowman failed to mesh with the club’s offence, recording a disappointing nine catches for 95 yards in six games. The three-time CFL all-star has yet to score a touchdown in 2018 and failed to register a catch in three of the Bombers’ six games so far.

As mentioned before, the Alouettes are revamping their offence, taking a major gamble with Johnny Manziel. Although Bowman is off to an ugly start, he improves a weak Alouettes receiving core that features B.J Cunningham, Ernest Jackson, Eugene Lewis, Chris Harper, and George Johnson.
