YWT #8- The Philadelphia Flyers Goaltending Situation
Author’s Note: This podcast was recorded before the Flyers activated Anthony Stolarz and before they acquired Petr Mrazek.
The Philadelphia Flyers don’t currently have a goaltender. Well, they do, if you count Alex Lyon. Alex Lyon, who made his third NHL appearance in relief of the injured Michal Neuvirth on Sunday in Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers, is not the long-term answer for the Flyers in net. We know that. What we don’t know is who will mind the Flyers crease as they attempt to get back to the playoffs.
With Michal Neuvirth’s status unknown for even tomorrow’s game against the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow, the Flyers fan base is left without answers. This week, You Would Think attempts to provide some of those answers, discussing potential trade partners and solutions, both short term and long. This week’s show is heavy on the speculative, throwing out names such as Petr Mrazek, Chad Johnson, Cam Ward, and Anders Nilsson.
We also discuss the Philadelphia Phillies as their Spring Training begins, the Philadelphia Eagles search for coaching, and Lane Johnson‘s comments about the Patriots, as well as the return of Seven or Six Seconds.
