Week Two Fantasy Football Starts and Sits

One of the most crucial parts of playing fantasy football is playing the match-ups. Now some players are considered match up proof. You aren’t going to sit Aaron Rodgers, Le’Veon Bell  or Antonio Brown. Below are some week two fantasy football starts and sits to help you to win your week two match up.

Week Two Fantasy Football Starts and Sits

Starts

Derek Carr

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is coming off a solid week one where he put up 19 fantasy points. He is going up against the New York Jets, who gave up 19 fantasy points in week one. Carr should produce solid fantasy numbers in week two.

Jameis Winston

Tampa Bay Buccaneers  quarterback Jameis Winston has been one of this year’s breakout candidates. The Buccaneers went out this off season and upgraded their offense. Winston is going up against the Chicago Bears in week two. They have had two weeks to prepare for this game. They also gave up 18 fantasy points to quarterbacks last week, making Winston a solid play in week two.

Ty Montgomery

Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery has been a solid running back for the Packers since switching from wide receiver last season. Montgomery is coming off a solid week one performance against a tough Seattle Seahawks defense. He totaled over 15 fantasy points in week one. In week two he is going up against the Atlanta Falcons who gave up 30 fantasy points to Chicago Bears running backs last week. The game should be a shoot out. Montgomery is a high-end running back two this week.

Lamar Miller

Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller had a solid week one with nine and half fantasy points. He is now going up against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night, a team who gave up over 24 fantasy points last week. Miller is a solid running back two in week two.

Brandin Cooks

New England Patriots wide receiver Brandin Cooks totaled 88 yards in his first game as a Patriot. In week two he is going up against his former team, the New Orleans Saints. Cooks should produce solid fantasy numbers in week two against the Saints who gave up over 30 fantasy points to the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.

Keenan Allen

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is coming off a solid week one performance against a tough Denver Broncos defense who was one of the best in the NFL last season against wide receivers. Allen totaled nine and a half fantasy points in week one and has a solid match up versus the Miami Dolphins who struggled against wide receivers last season. Allen should produce solid wide receiver two numbers in week two.

Zach Ertz

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz had a great game in week one. He caught all eight of his targets for 93 yards. Ertz seems to be one of Carson Wentz‘s favorite targets. He is a solid play in week two against the Kansas City Chiefs who lost one of their defensive corner pieces last week in Eric Berry. Ertz should continue to produce solid fantasy numbers in week two.

Jimmy Graham

Seattle Seahawks tight end Jimmy Graham is coming off a disappointing week one. He totaled only one fantasy point in week one. He was targeted and was mugged in the end zone by the Green Bay Packers. Graham should be in for a bounce back game in week two against divisional opponent San Francisco 49ers.

Sits

Eli Manning

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning struggled on Sunday night against division rival the Dallas Cowboys. He totaled only six and a half fantasy points. If Manning has Odell Beckham Jr. back he could be a play in deep leagues. If Beckham is out he is a risky play versus the Detroit Lions.

Andy Dalton

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is coming off a disappointing week one where he had five total turnovers against the Baltimore Ravens, totaling a negative three fantasy points. Now in week two he is going up against the Houston Texans who will have Dalton under constant pressure. He is a risky play in week two.

Bilal Powell

Like the rest of the New York Jets offense, running back Bilal Powell struggled in week one. He totaled only 39 yards for just under four fantasy points. Not only did Powell struggle, he is splitting time with Matt Forte which limits his opportunities. He is a high risk flex play in week two against the Oakland Raiders who limited the Tennessee Titans strong running game in week one.

Robert Kelley

Washington Redskins running back Robert Kelley had a down week one as he rushed for only 30 yards. The Redskins where playing from behind most of the game which limited his opportunities. In week two he is going up against the Los Angeles Rams who shut down the Indianapolis Colts last week. Kelley could be in for another down performance in week two.

T.Y. Hilton

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton had a disappointing performance in week one with 57 receiving yards and and fumble for three and a half points. The main reason for his struggles are because he is without starting quarterback Andrew Luck. Luck has already been ruled out for week two, making Hilton a risky play in week two against against the Arizona Cardinals.

Brandon Marshall

The New York Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall struggled in week one and was surprisingly not involved in the offense; especially concerning as Beckham out with an ankle injury, Marshall should have been a number one target. Marshall only had four targets and caught just one of them for 10 yards. Until Marshall produces consistently he is a risky play especially this week against the Detroit Lions on Monday night football.

Jack Doyle

Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle finished week one with only two catches for 38 yards for a total of three and a half fantasy points. Without starting quarterback Luck, Doyle is a risky tight end play even with the tight end position being so shallow. Doyle also has a difficult match up against the Los Angeles Rams strong linebacker corps.

Jason Witten

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is coming off a solid week one performance where he totaled 54 yards and a touchdown. Witten has had solid games against the New York Giants throughout his career. In week two, however, he is going up against the Denver Broncos who shut down the Los Angeles Chargers tight ends last week. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for their tight end needs unless in a deeper league.
