Claudio Bravo Signs for Manchester City

Today, Barcelona announced that they had signed Jasper Cillessen from Ajax. Cillessen will fight will Marc-André Ter-Stegen for the number one keeper spot. Subsequently, it was announced that Claudio Bravo signed for Manchester City on a four-year deal. The transfer fee is being reported as €18m with €2m in add-ons.

Time at Barcelona

While at Barcelona, Bravo won many trophies. He won La Liga and Copa Del Rey twice, and the Champions League once. He set a La Liga record for the club by not conceding from the start of season for 754 minutes. In his first year he only conceded an average of 0.51 goals a game.

How Claudio Bravo will fit in at Manchester City

With Joe Hart being linked to a move away from Manchester, Bravo figures to slot right in as first-choice ‘keeper. Bravo will help Manchester City push for the Premier League title and the Champions League. He brings a veteran presence to help bolster a shaky back four. Look to see him help John Stones a lot, as he is a very naive defender and Bravo is a veteran.
