Time in Seattle

Yedlin signed a Homegrown Contract with the Seattle Sounders in 2013, becoming their first homegrown player. While in Seattle, he amassed 51 appearances and one goal. On his professional debut, he received Team of the Week honors. Yedlin was the first rookie to ever win this award in their debut. He also was the first rookie to make the All-Star team as a rookie since Micheal Parkhurst in 2005.

Time at Sunderland

At the very end of the summer transfer window, Yedlin signed a year long loan with Sunderland. In his debut, Yedlin had an assist in Sunderland’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City in the League Cup. He went on to make 23 appearances for Sunderland. Yedlin also helped Sunderland stay up and not get relegated. Allardyce significantly helped Yedlin improve his defending.
