Abdel Nader in Double Digits for Third Game in a Row

Abdel Nader didn't get his time to shine in Utah, but since going to Las Vegas, the former Cyclone has been rolling his lucky 7's.

Abdel Nader has been on a tear in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League lately. The former Cyclone just wrapped up a 4-6, 10-point performance in the Boston Celtics 88-82 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Abdel Nader did not have the best of Summer League starts, though. The former Iowa State Cyclone started out his career by playing the least amount of minutes on the team, during each of the three games in Utah. Not to mention the sparce amount of shots he got, mostly due to it being Summer League and some players not being the biggest fans of passing.

After that, it was time for the Las Vegas League, and since then Nader has rolled his lucky seven’s.

Nader has scored in double digits in each of his past three times on the court, impressing Celtics officials very much.

“I think he’s been a huge surprise. He plays hard. He’s aggressive,” Celtics assistant Jamie Young told Celtics.com. “[During his time in Las Vegas], he has brought it.”

Nader’s performance on Tuesday was no exception, shooting 4-6 from the field, 2-2 from beyond the arc, and a plus/minus of 10.

Next up are the playoffs where, win or lose, Nader and the Celtics will play at least two more games. Like always, anything can happen.

Update: Nader and the Boston Celtics earned the 19th seed in the Las Vegas Summer League Playoffs and will play the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8:00pm ET this Wednesday. The winner will play the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2nd round.
