MLS Pick 'Em 2016 – Week 6 – FC Dallas v. Sporting Kansas City

MLS Pick ‘Em 2016 – Week 6 – FC Dallas v. Sporting Kansas City

Last weel, the draw down in Houston with the Sounders meant that last year’s pick ’em winner, Eric Walcott, is now 3 for 3 for picking exact scores when he picks a winner. The guy is on fire. Joe Hojnacki moved up the ranks with the same pick, a 1-1 draw. Here are the updated standings:

Player Points Correct Outcome Incorrect Correct Score
Eric Walcott 9 3 2 3
Matt Pollard 4 2 3 1
Joe Hojnacki 4 2 3 1
Joseph Goldstein 2 2 3 0
Alec Rivera 1 1 4 0
Russ McKenzie 0 0 5 0
Ned Joyce 0 0 5 0
Daniel Sperry 0 0 5 0
Laura McFayden 0 0 5 0

This week, we stay in Texas but move over to Dallas where FCD takes on SKC. Number 1 vs. Number 2 in the west should be a fun game for week 6. Both teams have some good momentum right now, and their offenses are clicking. Depth at the back for KC and the search for a clean sheet for Dallas are the real storylines in this one. Let’s see what the experts think.

FCD

Dallas is starting to right the ship, and SKC is struggling with depth thanks to some injuries right now. Dallas will take this one, maybe even coming from behind

Eric Walcott

FCD

This will depend a lot on if Mauro Diaz plays, but even if he doesn’t, Dallas has so many weapons, and SKC is dealing with multiple injuries to their back line.

Alec Rivera

FCD

Kansas City and Dallas have arguably been the two most impressive clubs in MLS so far, and this game will be a fitting test for both clubs. These teams have firepower to spare, so it should be a wild, back-and-forth bonanza. Dwyer gets a brace but Urriti creates three chances for the home side for the points.

Lots of goals. You get a goal, and you get a goal… SKC might be wise to bunker against Dallas the way they did vs RBNY last week, but that seems unlikely. It’s going to be a back and forth match.

DRAW
(3-3)

This will be a fun game with lots of offense and scoring. People will forget about Zusi’s awkward interview when he delivers an assist and goal in a very entertaining match

Matt Pollard

DRAW
(2-2)

Goals. Lots of goals. Dallas got off a bit easy as Portland is still a little shell shocked. They didn’t really miss Mauro Diaz for long stretches of time. They’re going to miss him in this game. Sporting has the midfield to own possession on the road and create chances for Dwyer and company. Still, KC has some holes at the back, where Dallas has depth at center back and a fresh Jesse Gonzalez.

Daniel Sperry

DRAW
(2-2)

Dallas backline has been rather porous to start the season, but their offense has been quite potent. Castillo and Urruti score, and Dwyer snags a brace.

Joe Hojnacki

DRAW
(2-2)

Should be back and forth with plenty of goals. These might be the two best teams in the West, so I’m not expecting much between them here. FC Dallas looks like winning until the 75th minute when Brad Davis rescues a point for Kansas City.

Laura McFayden

SKC
(2-1)

With Ike Opara and Matt Besler returning, there will be more stability in the SKC defense. That said, this isn’t RBNY. Dallas have a lot more to offer in the attack and will be able to sneak one past Tim Melia.
