In addition to the Giants signing Johnson, Seymour and Farrell, they also had offensive lineman Byron Stingily and Ben Ijalana, as well as linebacker Kelvin Sheppard in for workouts.

Johnson, 26, attended West Virginia, and after his senior season, he entered the 2011 NFL Draft where he went undrafted. The fullback failed to get even a single invite from an NFL team to attend training camp and was forced to miss the entire season.

It wasn’t until March of 2012 when Johnson got permission from his alma mater to attend and participate in West Virginia’s pro day for the second time in as many years. Luckily for Johnson, the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin and general manager Kevin Colbert, were in attendance. At the conclusion of his second pro day, the Steelers offered Johnson a contract on the spot.

Johnson would spend the next four years with the Steelers where he played in 63 of 64 games, in a league where the use of fullbacks had drastically declined over the last several years.

Seymour, 26, was a seventh-round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2013 NFL Draft. He didn’t appear or play in a single game this past season and last played in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns, appearing in only 11 games.

Farrell, 25, last played in an NFL game back in 2014, where he was a reserve offensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, but only appeared in eight games before being waived and spending last season on the Tennessee Titans practice squad.

Farrell can play the guard position as well as center, and with the Giants releasing offensive lineman Will Beatty and Geoff Schwartz this off-season, Farrell will have an opportunity to compete for a reserve role and help add some depth to the offensive line.
