Suns Brandon Knight Shut Down For Remainder Of The Season

Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight will miss the remainder of the season, due to a Sports Hernia, which may require surgery.

Knight averaged 19.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game in 52 appearances this season. Knight’s 19.6 points per game is a career high for him, in what has been a very poor season for the Suns. Alongside rookie Devin Booker, Knight has been a bright spot for a Suns team severely lacking quality.

Suns interim head coach Earl Watson had this to say on Knight’s situation when speaking to Paul Coro of AZCentral.com, “I’ve had that injury, and that’s a tough injury because I can make the same move 10 times and I can maybe only feel it three, or I can make it 10 times and feel it seven out of the 10. That injury is just like a floating injury. It’s vague. They really don’t know what’s wrong until they open you up and that’s the dynamic end.”

In Knight’s absence the Suns will likely give extra minutes to backups Ronnie Price and Archie Goodwin.

Earl Watson replaced former head coach Jeff Hornacek in early February. The team’s fortunes haven’t changed since Watson’s reign began. The Suns currently sit at 20-57 and 4th in the Pacific Division and are currently the second worst team in the Western Conference, sitting just above the woeful LA Lakers.

Brandon Knight joins a list of important Suns that are done for the season. Guard Eric Bledsoe (Knee) and Forward T.J Warren (Ankle) are both out for the season with long term injuries.

The Suns are currently on a six game loosing streak, and the team’s next game is against the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta.

The Suns season is certainly over, as the team already has a draft lottery night countdown on the team’s website. The team is looking forward and Suns fans should do as well.
