Kansas Jayhawks were awarded the number one seed in the south region of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Three Pac-12 teams will join Kansas. There are tough underachieving teams like Maryland and Iowa. Miami also may prove a tough challenge for Kansas.

March Madness: Kansas Heads South Region in NCAA Tournament

Villanova may have to meet Temple in their second game which will be a familiar opponents. Arizona is a very dangerous sixth seed.  The NCAA committee loaded the region with seven other  Top 25 teams (Arizona, California, Maryland, Miami, Vanderbilt, Villanova and Wichita State). Frank Mason from Kansas, Peter Jok from Iowa and Diamond Stone from Maryland are three of the most exciting players in the tournament.  The first upset may be the University of Connecticut Huskies over the Colorado Buffaloes.      If Arizona can survive its first round game against play-in contenders Vanderbilt or Wichita State, they could pose trouble for other high seeds.

Miami Hurricanes May be the Team to Win the South Region

Kansas may struggle to get past Maryland to get to final eight. Miami may be able to overcome Villanova and take on Jayhawks for Final Four. Miami may be the team coming out of the South in what looks to be an exciting and tough region.
