Mikkel Boedker Traded to Colorado

As the Coyotes are seemingly playing themselves out of a playoff spot, the time has come where they deemed it necessary to deal Boedker. And, with a plethora of teams knocking at the door to acquire his services, the Avs have offered the best deal in the Coyotes’ eyes.

Boedker is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, as the Coyotes gave him a 1-year/$3,750,000 contract last offseason. With 13goals and 26 assists this year for Arizona, and the talent he possesses, it is highly likely that he will see that number being increased, both in years and money, by the Avalanche. It’s also equally unlikely that you will hear any complaints from the Avs fan base, as this is widely seen as a great acquisition for the organization.

Boedker, born in Denmark, was the 8th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes, then the Pheonix Coyotes. In his 6+ seasons there he has amassed a very respectable 213points in 445games with the organization. His creativity in passing the puck, and superior skating ability will be gladly accepted for his new team, and will likely boost their hopes of being a future contender for the cup. The Coyotes have added to their pool of young talent, now adding Bleackley and Wood to the likes of Max Domi, Anthony Duclair, Christian Dvorak, Ryan Strome, and many more.
